The Medium Energy Physics Group in the Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory is seeking exceptional candidates for two postdoctoral positions beginning as soon as the Spring of 2019.

The Department of Physics at Syracuse University is soliciting applications for a post-doctoral researcher who will work on the program at Jefferson Laboratory, Newport News VA to measure parity-violating electroweak asymmetries. The primary responsibility will be to participate in the design of two new major spectrometers, SOLID and MOLLER. The candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in ongoing experiments at Jefferson Laboratory, including the commissioning and data taking of the approved PREx and CREx parity-violating electron scattering experiments in Hall A.

The Medium Energy Physics (MEP) Group at Mississippi State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The group has research interests which include studies of nucleon structure and hadronic physics at Jefferson Lab in Newport News, VA, such as the precision measurement of the proton and deuteron charge radii, charge symmetry violation in quark distributions, and search for the onset of color transparency. The MEP group recently completed two experiments in the newly upgraded Hall C using the 11 GeV electron beam.

We have multiple openings for staff members in the Nuclear Data & Theory (NDT) group of the Nuclear and Chemical Sciences Division The NDT Group performs research in nuclear theory to provide a fundamental understanding of atomic nuclei, their role in the universe, and their impact on the Laboratory’s national security missions. Key areas of fundamental research include ab initio and density-functional approaches to nuclear structure, nuclear reactions, and nuclear fission, the study of quantum chromodynamics, and relativistic heavy-ion theory.

The Center for Neutrino Physics at Virginia Tech invites applications for one postdoc position. The Virginia Tech group is involved in the study of neutrino oscillations. The successful candidate will work primarily on nuclear models for neutrino interactions using electron scattering data from Jefferson Lab. The candidate will work on the analysis of the electron scattering experiment on Argon at Jefferson Lab. Work will involve collaborating with leading experimentalists and theorists in the field in developing and testing nuclear models for neutrino interaction Monte Carlo generators.

We are announcing a professor position in experimental hadron physics at Uppsala University. The position previously held by Tord Johansson.
