Announcements

A tenured professorship (W2) in the field of hadron physics is now being filled at the Ruhr-Uni-Bochum together with GSI.

The postdoctoral fellow will be a member of the “Nuclear Structure” research team at LPC-Caen. The group’s work focusses on the structure of nuclei far from stability using direct reactions. The present position will support the group’s investigations of neutron-rich nuclei at the RIBF facility at RIKEN (Japan). In particular, the postdoctoral fellow will be a member of the STRASSE and SAMURAI collaborations.

The Nuclear Physics group at the University of York is seeking promising early career researchers for the Ernest Rutherford Fellowship. Several prestigious fellowships are awarded each year by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC -- UKs funding council), to enable early career researchers establish a strong independent research programme.  Applicants must hold a PhD and be able to exhibit clear leadership potential and must not hold an academic position. Successful proposals will be funded for up to 5 years including the applicant's salary, as well as travel expenses.

A 2-year postdoc position in nuclear theory (description of neutron-star matter with ab-initio
techniques), starting in October 2024, is available at the theoretical
physics department of IJCLab, Paris-Saclay University, Orsay, France.
Applications have to be submitted via the CNRS website

CEA Saclay is opening a staff position in detector physics.
Please find the announcement in attachment.

We strongly encourage applications from candidates with interest/experience in
studies of parton nuclear structure (e.g., with ultra-peripheral collisions).

The School of Physics and Astronomy is seeking to appoint an excellent candidate to a full-time, open-ended academic position within the Edinburgh Nuclear Physics Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic track record and proven leadership potential in any area of nuclear physics research.

The Chair of the FAIR Council, Dr. Catarina Sahlberg, would like this to be shared with everyone who might be concerned.

A unique opportunity exists for a faculty hire jointly between the https://pa.as.uky.edu Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky (UK) in Lexington, Kentucky and the https://frib.msu.edu/ Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) located at Michigan State University (MSU).

The 36th National Nuclear Physics Summer School (NNPSS) will be hosted at Indiana University, Bloomington on 15-26 July.  The summer school is open to all graduate students and postdocs within a few years of their Ph.D.  The application is now live, and more information is available at the school website.
