Assistant Professor of Physics (Experimental Nuclear/Particle)

The Department of Physics, Computer Science & Engineering at Christopher Newport University invites applications for a tenure track position in Experimental Nuclear/Particle Physics, effective August 18, 2014. The University is seeking faculty who are committed to undergraduate and master's level education, and who want to engage students in creative intellectual challenges. Our exemplary faculty integrate significant research with high quality teaching, and support the further development of our graduate program in Applied Physics and Computer Science. Faculty expectations, in addition to teaching, include the development of a vibrant, externally funded program of scholarship leading to publications, regular developmental advising of students, curriculum and program development, and university service. The successful candidate must be able to guide and assist undergraduate and master's level students in research projects at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab).
