Tenure Track Faculty Position in Experimental Nuclear Physics

Mississippi State University / JLab Bridge Faculty Position

The Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in experimental nuclear physics at Mississippi State University (MSU) starting August 16, 2014. This position is a Bridge Position with the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab), which carries release time of 50% for the first five years in order to expedited research efforts at MSU and JLab. We are seeking an individual with a primary interest in the physics program of hadronic and nuclear physics conducted at JLab. The successful individual will be expected to build a strong research program that will enhance the current programs at Mississippi State University and Jefferson Lab.

The position is a nine-month, tenure-track position at MSU at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must have a doctorate in physics or a related field, an established record of publications in scientific journals, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, and demonstrate an ability to initiate and lead an independent research program. Salary is competitive.
