You will be an enthusiastic and motivated scientist, and will be working in the Nuclear Physics Laser Spectroscopy Group led by Professor Jon Billowes. The group’s research is based at the ISOLDE isotope separator facility at CERN. You will assist in the testing and commissioning of equipment, the maintenance and development of the laser systems, and conducting experiments. It is expected that you will be based at CERN, Geneva. You will possess a PhD in a relevant field (nuclear or quantum optics). The ability to work as part of an international team, both in the UK and abroad, is essential. Knowledge of experimental nuclear research with low-energy radioactive ion beams would be advantageous.
