You will work in the field of laser spectroscopy of radioactive nuclei. Experience in both laser spectroscopy and radioactive ion beam production and manipulation is essential. Much of the research takes place at international facilities such as: ISOLDE, CERN; JYFL, Finland; TRIUMF, Canada and experience at each of these facilities is highly desirable. You should have a PhD and will be expected to set up and conduct laser spectroscopy experiments and analyse the data. A deep understanding of nuclear structure physics and a desire to continuously improve the experimental technique to address increasingly exotic nuclei is essential. The post is available initially for 12 month, with the possibility for extension.
