Assistant Professor in Nuclear Theory at Penn State Berks

Penn State Berks invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Theoretical Hadron Physics starting in August 2015. The initial appointment will be as a bridge position with the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility for a period of up to five years. During this period, the faculty member will be expected to actively engage in projects that contribute to the Jefferson Lab 12 GeV physics program.

We encourage applications from individuals whose research complement and enhance our current research programs at Penn State Berks in Theoretical Nuclear Physics and Phenomenological Data Analysis, in particular in building a multi-dimensional image of the internal structure of the nucleon within the framework of Quantum Chromodynamics. A high priority will be placed on developing a research program involving undergraduate students. A commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level is essential.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics, with at least two years of research experience beyond the Ph.D. degree, a published research record in theoretical hadron physics, and a demonstrated potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate level.
