Postdoc position at Rutgers
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey
The Rutgers intermediate energy nuclear physics group expects to have two postdoctoral position
openings during summer 2015.
The group is developing an experiment on the proton radius puzzle for the Paul Scherrer Institute, while
remaining active in several experiments at Jefferson Lab and the Seaquest Drell-Yan experiment at Fermilab.
The successful candidates would generally be expected to be based at one of these accelerators or at
Rutgers, and would be expected to focus on one of these programs while participating in others. The group
is involved in a wide range of technical activities, including work on wire chambers, Cerenkov counters,
DAQ, triggers, FPGA programming, and data analysis. The successful candidates will also run tests and shifts,
and supervise students.
A doctoral degree in physics is required, with experience in medium energy nuclear physics and appropriate
technologies preferred. The initial appointment is for one year, renewable annually. Applications will be
considered starting in July 2015, until the positions are filled.
