Nuclear Physics Summer School 2016
Dear colleagues,
The 2016 National Nuclear Physics Summer School (NNPSS) will be held from Monday July 18 through Friday July 29, 2016, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The summer school is open to graduate students and postdocs within a few years of their PhD (on either side) with a strong interest in experimental and theoretical nuclear physics. The program will include the following speakers:
Accelerators and Detectors - Elke-Caroline Aschenauer, Brookhaven National Laboratory
Data Analysis - Michael Williams, MIT
Double Beta Decay - Lindley Winslow, MIT
Electron-Ion Collider - Abhay Deshpande, Stony Brook University
Fundamental Symmetries - Vincenzo Cirigliano, Los Alamos National Laboratory
Hadronic Spectroscopy - Matthew Shepherd, Indiana University
Hadronic Structure - Jianwei Qiu, Brookhaven National Laboratory
Hot Dense Nuclear Matter 1 - Jamie Nagle, Colorado University
Hot Dense Nuclear Matter 2 - Wilke van der Schee, MIT
Lattice QCD - Sinead Ryan, Trinity College Dublin
Neutrino Theory - Cecilia Lunardini, Arizona State University
Neutrino Experiment 1 - Janet Conrad MIT
Neutrino Experiment 2 - Joe Formaggio, MIT
Nuclear Astrophysics - Andrew Steiner, Tennessee/Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Nuclear Structure - Stefano Gandolfi, Los Alamos National Laboratory
For more information and to apply for the school, please visit the NNPSS website (http://web.mit.edu/2016nnpss/).
We would also appreciate it if you could bring the school to the attention of appropriate students and postdocs.
