Postdoc position in FNAL SCD to work on DUNE and MINERvA

Description
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory seeks a highly qualified candidate for a postdoctoral Research Associate position to work on the MINERvA and DUNE experiments as part of the Scientific Computing Division (SCD). The position offers opportunities to develop the hardware, software, leadership, and analysis skills necessary for long-term success in particle physics research. The successful candidate will be expected to play a leading role in data analysis on existing MINERvA neutrino data and in the development of event generator and/or beam simulations for DUNE. Positions are for a period of up to three (3) years, with the potential for extension considered on a yearly basis thereafter. Every effort will be made to design the research program and maintain support for a Fermilab Research Associate so that she/he has the opportunity to produce physics results.

Qualifications and Essential Job Functions
- Ph.D. in particle physics, nuclear physics, or a relevant discipline by the time of the appointment
- A strong record of recent accomplishments in experimental physics
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with the C++ programming language
- Experience with HEP software frameworks
- Creative and independent problem solving skills
- Willingness to work collaboratively on a diverse team
- Capacity for prolonged computer work and visually demanding work
- Ability to travel by automobile and/or commercial aircraft both domestically and internationally may be required
