The University of Edinburgh nuclear physics group is looking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher in medical physics. The project relates to positron emission tomography (PET) imaging and will involve close collabration with an industrial partner. The post will support the development of a prototype commercial product for PET imaging based on cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) detector technologies.

As well as the medical physics project there would be the opportunity to devote some time to related nuclear research projects in the group. For further information see our web pages (http://www.ph.ed.ac.uk/research/nuclear-physics) or contact Prof. Daniel Watts (daniel.watts@ed.ac.uk). Note the position would start in March 2017 (or as near as possible to this date). Experience of particle detection methods, GEANT4 simulation and C++ programming would be an advantage.
