Postdoctoral position on MicroBooNE with New Mexico State University

The Nuclear and Particle Physics group at New Mexico State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position (Req. No. 1700212S) in Experimental High-Energy Nuclear Physics.

The position will be based at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory as part of the MicroBooNE Collaboration using the Booster Neutrino Beam. Our physics focus is on measurements of neutrino-nucleus and -nucleon cross sections with emphasis on fundamental issues of nucleon structure and the strong interaction. Analysis projects in these areas are immediately available, as well as simulation projects that look forward to future experiments.

The successful candidate will work with our experimental nuclear and particle physics group, currently consisting of two faculty members (Stephen Pate and Vassili Papavassiliou), one other research associate, and several graduate students.

A doctoral degree or equivalent in physics is required, experience in experimental medium-energy or high-energy nuclear physics or particle physics is preferred. Salaries are competitive and a comprehensive package of benefits is offered.

An electronic job application must be filled out and documents attached as stated on the posting announcement. Go to: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__jobs.nmsu.edu_post… for complete application instructions. Applications may be submitted until midnight on August 1, 2017.
