NIKHEF - Tenure Track Staff physicist in the Physics Data Processing group

Nikhef, the national institute for subatomic physics in The Netherlands, invites applications for a physicist with demonstrated expertise in large-scale physics software and modern computing architectures. The combination of physics and computing knowledge is essential in making algorithmic advances needed for the next generation of Nikhef experiments. This position is not connected to a single specific experiment; the successful candidate will join the PDP group to enable or expand the reach of Nikhef experiments through advances in their software infrastructure.

Applicants are expected to possess good communication skills and be able to work in a team of physicists and engineers. The applicant has the ability to work on a project basis with (industrial) partners and to manage a team of engineers and scientists. The successful candidate takes responsibilities for the research infrastructure of the PDP group and to develop courses for academic purposes, and is willing and able to obtain (personal) grants in order to contribute to the funding of Nikhef's research programmes.
