Postdoc position at the University of South Carolina

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow with the experimental intermediate-energy group. The research of our group involves the study of nuclei and nucleons with electromagnetic probes at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab) and at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI).

The successful applicant will work on detector construction and data analysis for the Muon proton Scattering Experiment (MUSE) at the PSI. That work will be both locally in Columbia, SC and at PSI in Switzerland. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in experimental nuclear or particle physics. Experience with data analysis and detector hardware is a plus.

Applicants should submit a resume, list of publications, and statement of research, and arrange to have letters from three references sent electronically to Prof. Steffen Strauch (e-mail:strauch@sc.edu). Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
