Postdoc position at Temple University

The Physics Department at Temple University invites applications for a postdoctoral associate position in the field of experimental nuclear physics.

The Temple University nuclear physics group is seeking outstanding candidates to be involved in its Jefferson Lab(JLab) 12 GeV upgrade science program. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead some of the upcoming experiments in Hall C lead by the group, threshold J/psi production, VCS, A1n and d2n experiments, to completion. The candidate can also contribute to a variety of other projects as the group is currently focusing on future opportunities with SoLID in Hall A at JLab and at an electron ion collider (EIC). Other activities of the group also involve an R&D effort towards new detector systems that will be used in a high luminosity and high acceptance environment as well as research activities within the CLAS12 collaboration at JLab.

A PhD in nuclear or particle physics is required. The candidates should send a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a research statement, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to Prof. Nikos Sparveris (sparveri@temple.edu).

Review of applications will begin on August 1, 2018 and will continue until the position is filled. The appointment is expected to start on January 1, 2019 and the candidate is expected to be located at Jefferson Lab.
