Postdoctoral position in Medical/nuclear physics

There is an opening for a postdoctoral research position working at the University of York within the new hadron and medical physics research group. The project will involve development, testing and simulation of new PET detector prototypes made from CZT detector technology in collaboration with an industrial partner (Kromek Ltd). There will also be opportunities to contribute to our pure science research area as part of the appointment. Our programme at JLAB and MAMI includes neutron skin measurements, investigating the d*(2380) resonance, meson spectroscopy and studies of hyperon-nucleon interactions. Experience in detector development, software development and GEANT4 simulation would be an advantage.

The appointment would start as early as 01/11/2018 and be for 12 months in the first instance with continuation of the post anticipated dependent on funding. The link to the application form can be found at
