* Deadline: Mar 31, 2020

Job description: The department of physics and astronomy at the University of California, Riverside invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar appointment to conduct research in experimental nuclear physics. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work at Jefferson Lab during the dawn of the 12 GeV era and to contribute to the Electron-Ion Collider conceptual development in an important time of the project. In particular, she/he will work on: - Measurements of particle correlations in SIDIS off light and heavy nuclei with the CLAS12 detector at Hall B. You will prepare upcoming experiments, participate in the data-taking, and lead the first publications related to hadronization in nuclei and final-state interactions. - Advancing the science program of the EIC and informing detector requirements within the context of the "EIC Yellow Report" effort over 2020. You will lead simulation studies of a novel type of observables for the 3D imaging of the nucleon and nuclei that are based on electron-jet correlations. The position is to be based on Jefferson Lab. Involvement in other projects that you find interesting and with high potential might be possible. Applicants should submit a resume, a list of publications with significant contributions, and a statement of research interests to Prof. Miguel Arratia (marratia@jlab.org). In addition, you should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to the above address. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The University of California, Riverside is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. Contact: Prof. Miguel Arratia (marratia@jlab.org) Letters of Reference should be sent to: marratia@jlab.org
