Postdoc at University of Kentucky

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Kentucky seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Scholar in the field of fundamental symmetries with neutrons. The group, consisting of three faculty members (Profs. C. Crawford, W. Korsch, and B. Plaster), 20 graduate students, and several undergraduate students, has physics interests in the search for the neutron electric dipole moment, neutron beta decay, and hadronic parity/time violation, with technical expertise in magnetics, optical methods, data acquisition, data analysis, and simulations.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute a significant amount of her/his time to the group's responsibilities on the neutron electric dipole moment experiment under development for the Spallation Neutron Source. The candidate will also be encouraged to contribute to the group's efforts on experiments that will soon take data and/or in the development of future experiments.

The initial appointment will be for a fixed term of one year, with renewal contingent on both parties' mutual satisfaction and continued availability of funding. In principle, the position will be available as early as January 1, 2020.

Inquiries regarding the position can be directed via email to C. Crawford (cbcraw2@g.uky.edu), W. Korsch (wkkors0@g.uky.edu), and B. Plaster (brad.plaster@uky.edu).

Applicants should arrange for three letters of reference to be submitted to the above email addresses. Applicants should also send a copy of a CV and publication list to these email addresses. Review of applications will commence immediately.
