We would like to bring to your attention an important new role that we are creating at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (TJNAF, or Jefferson Lab). This role reports to the Laboratory Director. The position description is given at https://misportal.jlab.org/hr/recruiting/postings/13493. In this role you will lead the nuclear physics program at the lab, with responsibility for approximately 350 staff and a budget of $130M annually.
This position is critical for development of strategy and implementation in the operation and development of the science program for the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF) which serves a 1,650-member user community. CEBAF delivers up to 12 GeV electron beams at high polarization and high power to four experimental halls which perform experiments to understand the strong force that binds quarks and gluons in protons and neutrons.
