EIC positions at BNL

Research Physicist
The EIC Division for Detector Systems in collaboration with the BNL Collider-Accelerator Department has an opening for a physicist to lead the electron and hadron polarimeter development, design and construction in the pre-accelerators AGS and RCS and in the EIC storage rings. Special emphasis should be given to develop hadron polarimetry for polarized deuterium and He-3 hadron beams. The work is complex and has its unique challenges which will require physics insight, creative solutions, and close collaboration with the other scientists and engineers in the division and with members of the  EIC project detector collaboration. The chosen candidate for the positions will fill a key role in leading the design and construction and at a later stage the operation of the different polarimeters.

Two Assistant Physicists, EIC Detector

The EIC Division for Detector Systems has openings for two physicists to research, develop and design the different experimental equipment components, in particular the components along the outgoing electron and hadron beam and the electron and hadron polarimeters. Especial emphasis is also given to the determination and understanding of beam backgrounds. The work is complex and has its unique challenges which will require physics insight, creative solutions, and close collaboration with the other scientists and engineers in the division and with members of the EIC project detector collaboration. The chosen candidates for the positions will fill a key role in design and construction of the individual components.
