Experimental Nuclear Physics Faculty Position
The Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in experimental nuclear physics at Mississippi State University (MSU) starting August 16, 2021. Applicants who will enhance and broaden the research activities of the medium-energy group are encouraged to apply. However, exceptional applicants in other areas of experimental nuclear physics such as nuclear astrophysics will also be considered. The medium-energy group at MSU is currently involved in experiments at Jefferson Lab and Fermilab, and has plans for the forthcoming Electron-Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory. We also have groups leading research in theoretical nuclear physics and a low-energy nuclear physics group conducting experiments at LANL and several University-based laboratories while also planning to be involved in research at FRIB.
Applicants must apply online at www.msujobs.msstate.edu (job # 501852) and include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, summary of research and grantsmanship plans, a statement of teaching philosophy and experience, a statement on diversity, and the contact information for at least three references. Please visit the MSU website
