PDF position at IJCLab (Orsay, France) in detector R&D

We have an opening for a postdoc position at IJCLab (Institut de physique des 2 infinis Irene Joliot-Curie, Orsay, France), 1 year (at least), starting March or April 2024, to take part to the characterization and the evaluation of performances of ASIC iterations to readout novel generation of LGAD (Low Gain Avalanche Diode), AC-LGAD, capable of very good timing (~30 ps) and spatial (~20 um) resolutions, which will be exploited by several detectors in the ePIC experiment at the EIC, notably the Romans Pots. The recruited person will exploit the existing test bench developed for the EICROC0 protype (4x4 channels) to characterize the electronic response of each channel, to evaluate the jitter, the crosstalk and to determine the charge sharing ratio of the system (EICROC+AC -LGAD). Script development in Python will be necessary to control ASIC parameters, to automate data collection and to record data for analysis. The successful candidate may also be involved in simulation work (GEANT4). The hired researcher will work within a collaborative environment and may be required to participate in the supervision of PhD or Master students. A Doctoral Degree in Physics with specialization in experimental nuclear or particle physics, or related area, is required. A demonstrated experience in instrumentation and good software skills are highly desirable. Interested candidates should apply via the official application page:
