The ALICE Group in Trieste (Italy) invites applications for two postdoctoral research positions to work on the development and characterization of particle detectors based on Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS). The application deadline is September 6th 2024.

The ALICE Group in Trieste currently comprises 9 staff scientists, 3 postdoctoral researchers, and 5 PhD students, and is deeply involved in hardware development and data analysis for the ALICE experiment. The postdoctoral research will focus on the R&D for flexible ultra-thin wafer-size MAPS sensors, developed primarily for the ALICE Experiment ITS3 upgrade at LHC, adopted for the ePIC SVT at EIC and considered for the future ALICE 3 Experiment at LHC.

The two positions have an initial duration of two years and one year, respectively, with the possibility to be extended. The net salary is around 2000 Euro/month. The two positions are available immediately.
