Postdoc position at the University of South Carolina

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow.  The initial appointment will be two years with a possible extension of a third year dependent on funding and satisfactory performance.

The successful candidate will conduct research in experimental nuclear physics at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab) and related to the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) being built at Brookhaven National Lab.

Candidates must have a PhD degree in physics or a closely related field by the start date of employment. The successful applicant will have expertise in nuclear and particle physics, mathematics, statistics, computing, computer programming (e.g. C++), data analysis (e.g. ROOT), and detector simulations (e.g. Geant4) sufficient for experimental nuclear physics research, which could have been gained during the normal course of a doctoral degree program. Candidates are required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
