TITAN-TRIUMF postdoc openings
Monday, November 30th, 2020
The TITAN collaboration is seeking 3 Postdoctoral Fellows to support its high-precision experiments in nuclear and atomic science at TRIUMF. Four on-line ion traps (a linear Paul trap, MR-TOF, EBIT, and Penning trap) are used to prepare and measure radioactive ion beams to study nuclear structure, nuclear astrophysics, and fundamental interactions. Major upgrades include two detector systems, a germanium detector array and an extreme ultraviolet spectrometer. Each postdoctoral fellow will work in a team to operate and to upgrade an ion-trap system and/or to implement a detector system. Involvement in several on-line experiments will lead to publications in highly ranked journals as well as presentations at national and international conferences. Candidates with a PhD in physics (or within a couple months) and relevant research experience will be considered. More information on TITAN, TRIUMF, and the position can be found in the attachment. Please contact Ania Kwiatkowski, aniak@triumf.ca, for more information or to submit an application.
