The Experimental Nuclear Physics group led by Prof. Kent Paschke in the Department of Physics at the University of Virginia invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position. The successful candidate will be expected to make significant contributions to preparations for the MOLLER experiment at Jefferson Laboratory. Activities will include simulation, design and testing of experimental hardware, planning for the execution of the experiment, and supervising or coordinating the work of other researchers including graduate and undergraduate students. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop an independent research effort in nuclear physics.
 
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in experimental subatomic physics or a closely related field by the starting date, as well as expertise in an area relevant to the group's research program. These areas include experimental hardware such as laser optics or detector systems, accelerator physics, simulations, and analysis. Priority will be given to candidates with a track-record of excellence in subatomic physics research and experience with laser optics or the use of GEANT4 and related software libraries.
